Hi to all our friends near and far!
This has been a crazy year and we want y’all to know that we’re blessed to have
spent it with YOU! Despite how bleak things may have seemed in the world this
past year, so many have supported us with donations of all kinds. You brought
in so many items for our Donation Chest, your own yarn for us to use and make
items for the chest (you cleaned out your stash and we won’t tell!), you’ve
prayed and sent words of encouragement. We are so, so very grateful.
As Easter approaches, we want to share
a special story, about a special blanket. A few years ago, our friend Alys had
a beautiful idea come to mind and she put her amazing talents to work. As
fingering weight yarns were donated to us, she always went through them carefully.
We watched as she would pick “just the right one” and add it to her special
blanket bag. Different colors, some little scraps and other long stretches of
color ~ all special and useful to her pattern.
Over the last few years she has shared a few peeks at what was coming
along. Now, it is complete!
We call this the Resurrection Blanket.
It has come from donated scrap yarn. Bits and pieces that were not anything on
their own, but woven together have created this beautiful treasure. It is the
story of all of us. Perhaps not doing a whole lot on our own, but given over and woven
together it is amazing what God can do with our lives! We continue to be amazed
at how God is growing things here at The Lamb’s Loom, in the middle of so much
turmoil, and His bringing so many together to serve and to help those in need. Your
donations of all kinds are a part of this story!
Our prayer over this next season is
that of a renewal, a refreshing of purpose for all of us. This last year, we
have heard so many stories of others helping others, of goodness being lived
out, and also of those who have struggled. As The Lamb’s Loom Donation Chest
continues to be filled over and over this coming year, our goal is to resurrect
and keep those needles, hooks and looms going ~ to keep sharing the
encouragement of serving ~ and to
refresh each other in the joy of helping others!
Happiest of Resurrection Sundays to you all! ♥
