WOW ~ What a month!!!

We have been soooo very blessed by everyone! We must start with a BIG thank you to all of you!
Many have donated yarn for use in the mission projects, others have delivered their own beautiful hats, scarves and shawls and others have come to share and shop and in general, just have FUN!!!

With all your help, another shipment has gone off to our friend Peggy and will all be in China soon. She has asked us to pray for all the teaching times and trainings on this trip. They will also be teaching for the first time for the Women's Federation of Tianjin!
And, please pray for travel arrangements. United is the best flight out of Denver, but they have now changed the rules and charge $100 for an extra bag each way! And yes, that extra bag is how they get the shawls and hats over there.

You can always keep up with the China trips here:

There are so many others stories to share over this last month, but we'll just go with a few highlights for now.

The Tunisian Crochet class was a blast!
There were bunnies hopping around everywhere!

Everyone seemed to enjoy the Tunisian method, so we're sure to add another project soon!

All kinds of wonderful people are enjoying the Sit-N-Knit room!

We're making hats, scarves, blankets and the best of all....

a whole room full of new friends!!!

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone for all your love, support and friendship in this ministry!!!!

Donation Chests Are Filling UP!

There's so much happening, there's only one place to start....we're grateful and overwhelmed with all the love and support around here!!!

Lots of new friends and project fun is going on in the new Sit~N~Knit room, of course. Where two or more yarn lovers are gathered, what else would happen?

It is a real blessing that so many of y'all are coming by to knit and add your creations to the mission chests. Our cup (chests) overflows, really!

Patti came by with a bag full of hats and scarves that she and Mary worked on over the Christmas holidays. They didn't want the chest to stay empty for too long after everything went to Mexico.

We're also so very grateful to all the Border Stitchers for all their contributions of knitted and crocheted items. AND their additions to our sample items that are displayed in the shop. Lovely work!

It may seem that sometimes all we talk about here is yarn, tho' that is what God is using to weave us all together, but the friendships and outreach are such a tremendous addition!

We have also been working on some more "practical" things, like two part donation forms that can be used for these lovely items being put in the chest, or for financial contributions. We are a 501 (c)(3), after all, so every now and then we have to pause a project to do the business stuff.

Here's another perfect story of how things work around here....Our friend JoAnn stopped by with 5 big crocheted blankets that another friend did not want....SO, we called Melody and she came and picked them up for use at the Dump Church. We added the crochet doll from another friend. The week this happened we had a really cold and wet cold front blow in. God and His perfect timing and provision for those kids happened through y'all.
What a blessing!

This is the kind of thing that YOU help happen here. Everyone one of you and every little bit, woven together to serve whomever God brings our way...THANK YOU!!!
Prayers and Purls to you all!

Cascade Yarn visit

Mike, from Cascade Yarns made his first trip to South Texas just to see us!!!
He was in San Antonio and stopped by to see us on his way to Houston!

This was 3 1/2 hours of FUN!
Yarn, colors and textures, oh my! Yes, we were in overload, but Mike was very patient and extremely helpful. Several Cascade pattern books were added to this order and we were able to get a couple of more yarns for some spring projects and classes that are in the works, too.

So, another order is on the way....and it has a few of the fantastic yarns y'all requested, too!

And today was the start of our first sock class! It's the first class in the new Sit-n-Knit room, too. This room is a little bigger and will give us more room in the shop for something....like yarn, maybe!

These shelves won't be lonely for long!

Yarn Tasting Fun!

Happily we can say that we only had one complaint during the whole day! When one of the ladies was given her First Annual Yarn Tasting Menu, she said, "Well, this had better happen more than once a year!" And we all agree!!!! So, the first good news is this WILL happen again!

Thank you to everyone who joined The Flock at The Lamb's Loom and came to give us such wonderful feedback and input! We have all your notes and are working to get your favourites in the shop. Your encouragement in this ministry is just fantastic!

Here are a few fun pics from the morning....

Pima Ice Cream
Pluscious Cake

Lion Brand Cotton Salad
From salad to desert, everyone seemed to enjoy the menu!

In addition to coming to see everything, several people bought items to put in the donation chest....THANK YOU!!!

There are other fun events in the works for this year....thank y'all for a wonderful kick start to 2015!

End of the Year?

How can that be? Time has flown by and it just doesn't seem like FOUR months since we first opened the doors to The Lamb's Loom!  God's provision continues to amaze us all...thought we'd share just a few pics from this Christmas ~

Thanks to a couple of good friends, we have SPACE BAGS!!! So, of course we put them to good use for shipment with Melody at the Dump Church in Reynosa, Mexico and Pastor Mike into Durango, Mexico (It sure helps stuff them into the back of the little plane he flies down there!) and for all the items that Peggy and her teams take to China!

We had a fun visit with Pastor Mike, just listening as he shared so many wonderful stories of people being reached up in the mountains. Melody and Peggy have shared some truly amazing stories with us, too. They are all so great about sending us a few pics, so we can put some faces with our prayers....

There's just nothing like getting emails and texts from our dear friends where ever they are in the world!

There are links to the various missionaries we serve here on our blog. Treat yourself to a few minutes of reading their stories, which are a part of yours, too!

And so we do....pray for safe passage for them all and God's care and keeping over them and those they serve. Thank you ALL for your support and participation in this ministry. We know you're with us every stitch of the way!

Happy Dance

HAPPY DANCE!!!!

It is OFFICIAL! We received the IRS letter today stating that we are officially granted 501 (c) (3) status! What a sweet answer to prayer.
There are soooo many things happening that it is hard to keep up now! We have Pastor Mike coming in this afternoon to meet everyone and pick up the hats and things for Durango, Mexico and we got word that Hope, our friend from Beijing, may be coming to visit us the first weekend of January!

So, we’re working and planning some FUN stuff….
like a YARN TASTING on January 3rd! There will be a morning brunch and lots of fun yarn to test out. We are counting on everyone’s input from this to help out with our future orders. It should be a fun morning, so hope that you will mark your calendar now.

It has been wonderful to meet some of the group called The Border Stitchers, too! They heard about us and have been dropping in to check things out. What a blessing to meet all these neat ladies! Shelly brought a couple of hats for Mexico, some have shopped and Merrie even brought her project bag and sat for a while. We’ve said this in a previous post, but it seems the thing that is always worth sharing is where our heart is around here….Our heart is set on being about the people, not the process.

Whether it is a connection made sitting with each other in the KnitWit room, or the love someone half way around the world feels when they receive a prayer shawl…above all, we’re about the people.
The shop in the Lamb’s Loom is about providing the resources to do more “people” stuff! The KnitWit room, or Sit-n-Knit room as some like to call it, is available any time you’d like to come by for a few peaceful minutes. Even if you don’t knit, there’s always a chair for you at The Lamb’s Loom.

Wishing you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTmas!!!!

Overflowing

So many wonderful things continue to happen at the shop! We are soooo very grateful for all of you that keep coming in and supporting the prayer shawl ministry in many ways. A perfect example are these hats. Yesterday we were given two more FULL bags of hats for Mexico. Arlene, Thank you – THANK YOU!!!

Next week we will be sending off another box of shawls for the final trip of the year to China and the group of hats and things going to Like Elijah Ministries for the Dump Church in Reynosa, Mexico. THEN, we will get all the hats set for the first week in December for Pastor Mike’s trip to Durango, Mexico.

And so much to share about the shop and the activities there. The Tuesday morning hat class has become a regular thing….Friday mornings and the Needle Knitting class are going really well and Saturday mornings are pretty busy. And all during the week it has been such a blessing to have friends stop by for help on their current yarn project, or just to sit and kick back a little.

There are new things coming in all the time, both consignment “gifty” things and yarn and notions and more yarn! Thanks for spreading the word and helping in all the sweet ways you do!
